Easily recognizable by his signature golden bird mask, Claptone is an anonymous Berlin-based DJ and producer who bridges the worlds of deep house and indie dance. His tracks generally feature smooth, DJ-friendly tempos and warm chords, and while they're clearly crafted to soundtrack a joyous night out at a club, there's a tinge of loneliness and heartache to them. Claptone's singles and albums, including 2015's Charmer and 2021's Closer, have included guests such as Peter Bjorn and John, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Jimi Tenor, and Seal.

Claptone is a German DJ who originally from Berlin. He is known for his mysterious persona and manic tour schedule, playing at clubs and festivals around the world.
Claptone's signature look includes his golden bird mask, a top hat, white gloves, and dressed in black. He does not see himself to be the one for attention and wants the music to speak for itself and to connect to his listeners. Originally intending to solely release music online as his own way to personally express himself to the world, but once he started to gain traction he started being offered substantial money to play at clubs. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most prolific touring DJs in the world. During his live performance, Claptone's attempts to connect with his audience and to provide them with an audio-visual experience that makes patrons lose themselves in the moment.
Claptone's music takes inspiration from across the sonic universe, ranging from hymns from birds and whistles in nature to musical harmonies of pop songs and hypnotic flow of dub and hip hop. In 2015, he released his debut album Charmer which boasts features from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Peter Bjorn and John and more. In addition, Claptone has been releasing his signature CLAPCAST mix on SoundCloud since 2014 and in June of 2017, dropped his 100th installment of the series. To stay so private and unknown in the visual modern world of likes and photos is no mean feat, especially considering he plays more than 260 shows around the world each year. In 2017 he brought his own immersive and otherworldly 'The Masquerade' events with special guests including Black Coffee, Claude von Stroke, MK and Pete Tong all joining the fun to various places around the world. Besides appearing in Los Angeles, Rio, Berlin, Paris, New York and Barcelona, Claptone brought 'The Masquerade' back to Ibiza, with highlights including two all night long joint venture shows with Elrow at Amnesia. They saw him spellbind the audience for seven straight hours and were the first sold out shows of the year for the club.
