NOVAK DJOKOVIC, the world number one ready to bounce back for the Roland-Garros

After elimination in the round of 16 in Monte-Carlo and a surprise defeat in Belgrade, Novak Djokovic this time reached the final of the Masters 1000 in Rome, without securing the final victory. This Sunday, the Serbian lost to Rafael Nadal (7-5, 1-6, 6-3), but the world number #1 showed his satisfaction after the meeting. “Of course, I'm disappointed to have lost, but I'm happy with my level. It had been a long time since I had felt like that on clay,” confided Djokovic, now focused on Roland-Garros in Paris (May 30 - June 13). “The first thing I'm going to do next week is get as much rest as possible, because I've spent enough time on the court. So I'm just going to recharge, pull myself together and start training again a few days before the start of the Belgrade Open. There, playing at home, we will most likely see the fans in the stands, so it will be great to be "fueled" by that energy. It's important to go to Paris with a good feeling, on and off the court. Also, I will be spending time with my family, which I wouldn't have been able to do if I had been to Paris earlier. I started to feel good on clay. So I think if I can play like I did on Saturday and Sunday, I think I have a good chance of going all the way in Paris," said Djokovic.

On this Saturday, May 22, Novak Djokovic celebrates his 34th birthday! Unfortunately, time flies, but the Serb continues to make tennis history. And he still has a few good years ahead of him. His record is immense: "18 Grand Slams" "36 Masters 1000" "5 ATP Finals" titles and many other trophies fill his cupboard. Nole this year also broke the record for the number of weeks spent as world number 1, held until March by Roger Federer. The main goal now for Djokovic is without a doubt to overtake Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in the race for the Grand Slams...
