Simone Biles, the four-time Olympic champion, once again found her way to the top of the podium, claiming her seventh U.S. title wich give her the most titles (7) won by any American woman. With just weeks to go until the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Simone Biles looks on track to make history.
She made an incredible performance (60.10 points, for a two-day total of 119.65). And she didn't even have to dare her signature flights. After an exercise on the beam close to perfection (14.90 pts, with a difficulty score of 6.5), and a floor to its excess (14.95 pts, out of 6.8), Simone Biles did not not even attempted this new jump in Yourchenko double back body pike somersault that she hopes to present to the Olympics so that it bears her name. She was satisfied with the traditional Cheng and Amanar to validate her third title by apparatus (in addition to the all-around competition). She's already the most decorated gymnast at the World Championships. She needs four medals to pass "Vitaly Scherbo" as the most decorated gymnast at both the Olympic Games and worlds.
"I feel like I did try to enjoy it because it could be one of my last championships that I'll attend," Biles said. "But it's also the road to Tokyo, and after this we have trials, so we just have to really embrace the moment."
